Huey Dunbar

Huey Dunbar, a singer of Puerto Rican and Jamaican descent, was persuaded by arranger/producer Sergio George to try his hand at tropical music after participating in a talent competition. Over the next two years, the young artist honed his natural skills and learned how to speak and sing in Spanish.

He made his debut as a backup singer for Yolandita Monge, contributed to India’s 1994 album “Dicen Que Soy”, and sang alongside Víctor Manuelle. In 1996, Huey Dunbar joined the tropical club/dance group DLG (Dark Latin Groove), where he sang alongside James de Jesús and Wilfredo Crispin (also known as Fragancia), and reached the top of the Latin charts with the hit song “No Morirá”. After releasing the albums “Swing On” and “Gotcha”, which was nominated for a Grammy, Huey Dunbar released his first solo album called “Yo Si Me Enamoré”.
