Hezekiah

Philly/Delaware rapper and producer Hezekiah moved from New Castle Delaware to Philly in 1997 to work for The Roots and pursue his music career.  Hezekiah has many sides: rapper, producer, singer, songwriter and director who creates socially aware music and art that blends many styles including rock, jazz, blues, and hip hop.  Always innovative, Hezekiah with producer Tone Whitfield, created Soul/Rock band Johnny Popcorn, a hip-hop persona who is a cocksure, cartoonish, digital funkateer. He also has production credits that include Bilal, Freeway, Zap Mama, Bahamadia, Musiq Soulchild, Blu, Eric Roberson, Talib Kweli and more.  His Hezekiah COLORS project addresses today’s health and wellness needs through immersive music and arts experiences that build compassion and understanding for the abled and handi-capable community as well as family members of all ages.
